We are currently seeking a talented, enthusiastic senior accountant to join our tax preparation and financial services firm. We are located SE of the Metro area and have a great opportunity for growth in an established tax office. Our organization specializes in working with small to mid-size businesses and individuals with a strong focus on agricultural farm clients. Services provided include but are not limited to preparation of complex federal and state income tax returns, tax planning/consulting, bookkeeping, and payroll services.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of individual, property tax, partnership, corporate and non-profit returns
Regularly meet with clients to compile, review and/or assist with tax and accounting needs
Prepare year-end financial statements (tax basis)
Review payrolls, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns
Provide various accounting and business consulting services
Assist clients with bookkeeping and adjusting journal entries
Conduct special projects as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies:
A Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of recent public accounting experience
Ability to build client relationships
Self-starter with the ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Proficient in QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Office Suite (a focus on Word and Excel)
Experience with Ultra Tax CS and Lacerte tax software
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to perform complex financial analysis
Strong knowledge of internal revenue code, tax law, tax processes and general tax software
CPA certification important but not required
