Quality Assurance Team Lead/Coordinator Job Opening in Carlsbad, New mexico - The QA team lead/coordinator exercises responsibility for verifying the achievement of quality in the implementation of the SNL WIPP Quality Assurance (QA) program works with the other members of the QA team to distribute roles and responsibilities among the team members.
The QA team lead/coordinator also ensures the adequacy of the SNL QA program as measured against the requirements of the Department of Energy?s (DOE) Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD), and as measured against the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NQA-1, -2, -3, 1989 edition and other DOE-related codes, standards, regulations, and regulatory guides required by the Environmental Protection Agency?s (EPA) 40 CFR 194 criteria for WIPP?s compliance with the EPA 40 CFR 191 disposal regulations.
The QA team lead/coordinator applies the principles and techniques of auditing, including audit planning, examining, and questioning, evaluating, reporting, follow-up on corrective action items, and closing out audit findings.
The QA team lead/coordinator conducts QA audits, assessments, and surveillances and supports internal and external audits.
The QA team lead/coordinator develops and deploys training in quality subjects, including lessons learned through continuous improvement and corrective actions and assists Sandia/Carlsbad management and staff with quality planning, documentation, and problem identification and resolution.
The candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years' experience in quality assurance as it is practiced on the WIPP project, and especially as it is practiced by Sandia in the performance of our work on WIPP.
The candidate shall have an ASME NQA-1 Auditor qualification.
The candidate shall have an undergraduate degree in science, engineering, or mathematics plus at least 10 years of applicable professional experience, especially at the intersection between science, engineering, or mathematics and quality assurance.
A master's degree in a science, engineering, or mathematics may be substituted for 5 years of the required professional experience.
A PhD in science, engineering, or mathematics may be substituted for 10 years of the required professional experience.
The work is performed at Sandia National Laboratories? Carlsbad remote site and the candidate shall reside in Carlsbad, NM, for the duration of the contract.
