Construction Materials Sales Job Opening in Richmond, Virginia - Interested in rocks? Or metal? Construction? We are your place!
We sell rocks (natural slate) and metal (standing seam) for roofing, yet we don?t install so if you have a fear of heights that won?t be a factor.
The job involves a lot of talking on the phone across the country, sending emails with limited typos, making sales to roofers, roofing distributors, or general contractors. Writing experience and knowledge of Quickbooks would be a help but personality wins out.
Requirements : Good at talking! We don?t care if you didn?t go to college, (the art of selling often wins out over the knowledge to selling from a college professor) military a bonus- VMI alumni owner. Organized to understand and facilitate trucking with full truck loads and LTLs.
Experience - one year or 15 years; sales is sales, and winning the job is the goal. We would rather hire someone with the desire to stay and grow.
Mostly we value candidates that want to work! That have shown a dedication to past jobs, few gaps time in the resume, and the desire to grow.
Monday through Friday, roofers don?t like sales calls on weekends. 8:30-5:00
Compensation runs from $45,000-$55,000 based on experience plus year-end bonus based on how many rocks move through the door. Medical, paid holidays, and vacation/ need time to do nothing days. And almost once a week we buy lunch for the office.

Inside sales in roofing with both established and new customers
Developing sales initiatives * Responding to customers with samples
Arranging product transportation * Writing sales proposals, letters, and other office correspondences.
Assistance in marketing with email responses, social media, and website updates * Bookkeeping with Quickbooks
This is a small office setting that requires a candidate to be a self-motivated initiative taker. Figuring out what needs to be done and having the initiative to do it before being asked.
