Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
A/P, A/R
Payroll, related payroll reporting and record keeping, including end of year
Bank Deposits and reconciliation
Retail Daily Journal entries , sales tax reporting
Cost allocation and Inventory Depletion reporting
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
Prepare financial management reports
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
Monitor and support taxation requirements
Develop and maintain financial databases
Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the audit process
Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
Education and experience
Accounting degree or equivalent from a four year accredited institution
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
Knowledge of economic principles
Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications such as Excel and Quickbooks
Requirements
Proven senior accounting experience
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
BS degree in Accounting, Finance or Relevant
