Inside Sales Representative (Retail Dedicated) Job Opening in Hilo, Hawaii - Summary/Objective Under general direction from the District Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative?s job entails selling or introducing new products or services to established clients. The customers communicate with an Inside Sales Representative to request orders, and lead times by fax, telephone, or email. Will build quotes on standard products, write orders, and communicate pertinent information on them to customers. Will serve as the first point of contact to resolve product and service problems and other customer service related issues. The Inside Sales Representative handles the execution and overall coordination of food show and tell and the Suisan annual Food Show.

Cooperating with District Sales Manager and District Sales Representative to determine essential strategic approaches for sales.
Disseminate product and inventory information as request by accounts.
Update customers on all ?out of stocks? or ?substitutions? to keep communication lines open for all key accounts
May execute new account onsite visitations to designated assigned accounts.
Assist with sourcing and ordering special order requests as needed.
Service all walk-in/call-in customers as well as any potential customers.
Serve as the first point of contact for all customer service related issues handling all concerns. Will oversee the entire conflict resolution process from receiving the complaint, to investigating the cause, to communicating with the customer the corrective action (expedite correction or adjustment); escalate to District Sales Manager, as appropriate.
Responsible for processing orders by telephone, email or online and enter them into the company?s computer system.
Verify product availability. Order substitutions as needed.
Maintaining and expanding the database of prospects of the organization.
Handling cancellations or changes in sales order and communicating the changes with the related departments.
Coordinating with customer service for status on orders from related departments in ensuring the delivery commitment to clients is met.
Emphasizing service or product features and benefits, discussing credit terms, quoting prices, and preparing sales order reports or forms.
Assisting will will-call order pulling and staging for customers.
Maintain a safe and secure working environment
Organize workflow to meet deadlines.
Ability to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe work environment.
Clean and respond to any spills immediately.
Follows all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and procedures that relate to sanitation, food safety and pest control.
Sweep and clean to maintain required level of cleanliness.
Participate in daily Flex & Stretch.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, exempt (salary) position, and schedule hours of work and days will be based to support our Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. operational hours.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner. Work under minimal supervision, apply logic and reasoning to solve complex problems, use sound judgement and discretion in performing work duties. Requires excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to listen, persuade, and influence skills in dealing with all levels of employees, clients and vendors.

This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. This position will be required to occasionally stand; climb; requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 75 lbs on occasion.
