In this role, you will use will assist in the development of new microbial detection and identification assays in our facility located in Wilmington, DE.
You are excited by the opportunity to create innovative products and will perform microbiological, biological, biochemical and genetic assays on food or other samples to detect and identify pathogenic or spoilage or beneficial microorganisms.
You will also identify microorganisms to the genus, species and strain level and performing serological tests or other microbiologic protocols for microbial characterization in a BLS2 laboratory environment.
You will develop and optimize enzyme assays and analytical methods, perform validation studies to replicate and verify results maintain bacterial fungal culture collection.
You have knowledge of standard molecular techniques including Southern blotting electrophoresis, sequencing, bacterial isolation and identification.
You have excellent communication skills and are able to present data effectively to customers and employees.
You have a bachelor?s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, or other related field.
You also have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment.
