Heiman, Inc. is in search of a qualified/trainable Fire Equipment Sales Representative whose primary job is the sales of fire equipment, fire apparatus and safety related products. It is preferred that candidates have a strong and proven background in sales & business development but will train the right individual that meets pre-qualification standards to include: excellent communication skills, a sales and mechanical aptitude, charismatic attitude, and must possess excellent customer service skills.

SUMMARY
Primarily a sales position responsible for growing sales and increasing company profits by cultivating current customers and prospecting for new customers. The Fire Equipment Sales Representative will increase profitability by promoting products, providing technical support and conducting training to new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Determine sales potential for new and existing customers through inquiry, observation or periodical research
Prepare and conduct sales presentations of products to new and existing customers
Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products
Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
Increase business and account base by finding and qualifying new business accounts using sales techniques to cross sell and up-sell
Maintain and improve customer relationships and satisfaction
Learn and apply new product knowledge to enhance sales and personal professionalism
Assist clients with special requests and problems (supply information, resolve complaints, etc.)
Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
Negotiate and establish pricing and terms according to company?s requirements for customer and transaction profitability
Prepare and present quotations
Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
Monitor customers? current credit status
Follow company policies and procedures
Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals
Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
Practice honesty and integrity in customer and vendor relations
Maintain technical and computer capability to effectively use contact management, distribution and office software
Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
Participate in trade association functions
Participate and be active in local industry organizations
Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Basic:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum 2 - 3 years in similar position
Must meet safe driving policy criteria to be an active company vehicle driver
Must be a "self-starter" and be motivated to succeed
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check
Technical expertise and knowledge of company products
Experience monitoring marketplace to identify business opportunities
Strong project management and multi-tasking skills

Commercial Driver?s License Class B, in good standing

Physical Requirements & Exposures:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
Must be able to carry 75 pounds repeatedly
Must be able to push greater than 100 pounds as needed
Must be able to pull greater than 100 pounds as needed
Must be able to safely climb a latter and reach a height of at least 12 ft.
Constant (5-8 hours/shift) standing, walking, handling items, and eye/hand/foot coordination
Frequently (2-5hrs/shift lifting, carrying repetitive motions, noise exposure, grasping items
Occasionally (up to 2hrs/shift) sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, balancing, reaching, crouching, exposure to weather
