Medical Billing & Collections Specialist ? Senior Living/Lon... We are seeking a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to join our Finance team. Candidate will professionally and positively embrace/support person directed care/values based culture and work cooperatively with residents, families and other employees at all levels.
Reporting to the Business Office Manager, the Medical Billing & Collections Specialist is responsible for billing, collections and cash posting of all Medicare, Medicaid Managed Care, and secondary claims, as well as private pay and personal needs accounts (PNA), and for the accurate, timely filing, collection, and management of third party billing claims.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
Maintains the billing software to ensure all billing and financial data is accurate.
Generates, edits and bills Medicare, Managed Care, and secondary claims, as well as private pay and personal needs accounts (PNA).
Performs payment processing, reconciliation, and reporting within timeframe set by the established procedures.
Processes account adjustment, reconciliation and refunds within timeframe set by the established procedures.
Assists with upload/enter charges that impact third party billing such as: Therapy, Pharmacy, lab, radiology.
Maintains all monthly A/R reports for audit and financial reviews.
Maintains bad debt log and quarterly credit balance report.
Maintains and organizes consistent collection documentation.
Participates as requested in training and A/R review.
Prepares statements and other supporting documentation as necessary to generate prompt payments.
Maintains or exceeds company established cash and accounts receivable targets.
Utilizes Medical and Billing Terminology.
Answer/responds to inquiries and correspondence related to resident accounts.
Adheres to established HIPAA confidentiality standards of resident and client location information. Qualified candidates will have a High school diploma or GED and Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare office with billing experience (willing to train the right new grad). Experience in long-term care / skilled nursing third party reimbursement billing, collections and compliance assurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Coinsurance, preferred. Experience with PointClickCare, Medicare DDE/FISS system, E Solutions preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications. Self-directed and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative, follow-through and strong attention to detail; effective interpersonal, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
