Developmental Service Alternatives is a locally owned and operated company that has been around for 30 years. DSA is an agency committed to the mission of providing quality life experiences to individuals with intellectual and/or development disabilities.
We are currently seeking a Residential Director. This position reports directly to our Area Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops for each consumer, an Individual Support Plan (ISP) and monitors its implementation.
Maintains consumer programmatic records in a manner consistent with HIPAA regulations, other federal and state regulations and applicable DSA, Inc. policies and procedures.
Communicates significant observations and recommendations to the IST as appropriate.
On no less than a monthly basis, interviews each consumer to determine whether he/she has experienced or observed staff-to-consumer or abuse/neglect; documents interview results and immediately reports any allegations of abuse/neglect.
Ensures all policies and procedures related to abuse and neglect is followed.
Establishes and maintains a communication system with day program providers to ensure that consumers? vocational needs are met and that service coordination problems are resolved in a timely fashion.
For each program site, ensures availability of a schedule as directed by agency policy for direct-care staff to meet the program and medical needs of consumers within budget guidelines specified by the Program Services Director.
Evaluates the in-home performance of DSPs and RCs on a routine basis using the Incidental Staff Observation Evaluation (ISOE) and other pertinent evaluations tools per agency policy.
Ensures a monthly activity calendar involving the consumers? input is complete and available per agency guidelines.
Ensures a professional presence in each home under his/her management as directed by agency policy.
Ensures timely reporting and follow-up of incidents requiring submission of BQIS Incident Reports. Conducts investigations as assigned and in accordance with agency policy.
Participates in any state or federal surveys and/or audits, or CARF accreditation surveys that occur in homes for which the RD is responsible. This includes being present in the site when a surveyor, fire marshal or auditor is in the home.
Participates with other Area Residential Directors in an on-call schedule to ensure critical consumer and staffing issues are handled in a timely and effective manner. When no other staffing options are available, provides direct care for program site consumers.
Participates as an instructor in the agency Staff Training program.

Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in psychology, social work, nursing or related human services area and/or minimum of one year of work experience in developmental disabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively; orally and in writing.
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
Ability to use common word-processing, spreadsheet and communications software programs within a Windows environment.
Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check as required by federal and/or state laws and any other post-offer, pre-employment screenings as mandated by a governing agency or DSA, Inc.
Valid Indiana driver?s license, a good driving record and current automobile liability insurance are required.

Salary: $36,000.00 to $38,000.00 /year
