Responsibilities:
· Receive and analyze service orders for equipment installations, move, repair, or other needs;
· Install and maintain premise distribution wiring;
· Design, lay out, install, and maintain building paging systems, including equipment, speakers, and wiring and tests specialty circuits and UPS units;
· Fabricate specialty cables for special applications and to connect dissimilar types of communications equipment;
· Administer software changes in telephone switch for maintenance and installation purposes; maintains updated data in telephone database; types number designations for telephones;
· Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tools associated with work activities, which may include a utility vehicle, computer terminal, laptop computer, printer, telephone switch, cellular telephone tester, scanner, halcyon band test set, copy machine, facsimile machine, typewriter, calculator, telephone, meters, diagnostic equipment, and hand tools;
· Perform general maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in operable condition;
· Monitor equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety;
· Operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data;
· Verify accuracy of entered data and makes corrections as appropriate.
Requirements:
· Telecommunications experience (4+ years);
· Nortel / Avaya PBX telephone switch experience;
· CS1000 certification;
· Knowledge of SIP protocols;
· Nortel or Avaya Certifications (preferred);
· High school diploma .
