Financial Controller Job Opening in Warrenville, Illinois - Part-time Controller for Micro Cap, Publicly Traded, Specialty Construction Firm
Key Responsibilities :
Reporting to Strategic CFO, directs daily financial accounting functions to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial information.
Drives the monthly close process to develop and approve financial statements, including closing work papers, variance analyses of accounts and annual budget items
Develop and ensures internal financial controls are in place, regularly tested, and documented.
Develops plans and objectives in budgeting, profit analysis, accounting systems, reporting, and operational improvements.
Operates all cash management duties including cash forecasts and money management.
Manages the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely payment of liabilities, proper recording and control of cash receipts, recording of fixed assets, and development of adequate processes and procedures.
Directs the preparation of management reports and required reporting related to regulatory and tax compliance.
Support quarterly process re: SEC filings, including financial disclosures and related footnotes
Provide continuous monitoring and updates of stock issuance, options, warrants and capitalization table.
Support the CFO with preparation of board, investor, and executive presentation materials, including systematically tracking financial performance of the business.
Directs, forecasts, and analyzes special projects.
Manage one direct part-time AR/AP clerk.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor degree in finance/accounting with a CPA license.
10+ years of financial management experience. Public accounting experience required.
Recent experience as Controller or Assistant Controller at a small cap publicly-traded company preferred.
