Applications System Analyst Programmer Job Opening in Indianapolis, Indiana - Employee works for the Indiana Department of Revenue to development diverse software applications. Some of these systems are used within the entire department and others are used by only a select few. These systems may be integrated with other systems to insure accurate and complete data as well as a minimal amount of data entry from the user.
The employee will use current industry standards and Department best practices where applicable and as directed. Employee will need a working knowledge of security best practices for development and IT.

Employee may access Federal Tax Information while performing daily job duty. All taxpayer information, federal and state, obtained by an employee in the performance of his/her duties is confidential and not to be shared with anyone outside the Department, except as specified by the Indiana Statute. Any employee or officer of the Department of Revenue who accesses tax information without a business reason, unofficially or without approval, will be dismissed from employment.
Responsibilities :
Develops, codes and debugs new application software or make enhancements to existing application software according to specifications
Can communicate very well both written and orally. Able to make presentations to the team.
Continually improves skills related to their position
Able to facilitate conflict resolution.
Encourages team members to seek creative solutions to problems.
Demonstrates enthusiasm for the work being developed and the processes surrounding it.
Follows the DOR Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process including concepts and principles of Scrum/Agile/Kanban.
Efficiently manages and completes delegated work
Removes impediments when they arise or escalates them to upper management when they cannot be removed.
Understands the value of commitments of delivery made by the development team.
Follows good quality and security practices
Demonstrates proficiency with the tools, technologies, and techniques that the development team uses.
Able to complete regular software development assignments in a timely manner
Preferred Experience:
Six (6) years? work experience in Information Technology or accredited college training in a related field.
