Command Security Corporation (NYSE MKT: MOC) is a provider of physical security solutions for the commercial, local, state and federal government and aviation markets. The company continues strong growth and expansion in key vertical markets and is looking to add a corporate staff accountant to the team.
Position Summary
The staff accountant is based out of the company?s corporate headquarters office in Herndon, Virginia, and will provide support of day-to-day accounting related functions as described below.
Responsibilities
Prepare and enter journal entries
Assist with month-end close
Reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations
Prepare and file state sales and use tax returns
Assist with preparation of financial analyses included in monthly board presentations
Assist with quarterly external financial statement reviews and annual audits
Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings
Work closely with all members of accounting; payroll, accounts receivable (billing and collections), accounts payable and field personnel
Reports directly to Controller
Requirements
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance required
3+ years of relevant experience in finance and/or accounting
Very strong written and verbal communication skills required
Very strong organizational and time management skills required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Candidate must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment
Ability to pay close attention to detail
Capacity to thrive in a team environment
Sense of urgency; must be able to meet rigid deadlines
Candidate must be self-motivated and have strong work ethic
Able to pass a background check and drug screening
