Financial Analyst Job Opening in Norfolk, Virginia - MHI Ship Repair & Services is a major marine repair and conversion contractor serving the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, Maritime Administration and Commercial ship owners and operators worldwide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist Financial Accounting Manager in numerous financial reporting areas.
Examine, research, and analyze general ledger accounting data in complex Excel spreadsheets
Prepare and coordinate month end balance sheet reconciliations
Manage and book month end accrual entries
Manage fixed assets, including recording depreciation monthly
Assist in the financial budget and reforecast process
Assist with intercompany journal entries and consolidations
Cash management, including recording of daily cash transactions, preparing daily cash reports, and forecasting cash inflows/outflows
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, and a one ? three years of finance related on the job experience.
Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Must be a self-starter, with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Extreme attention to detail, and ability to analyze complex problems.
Must be able to multitask and change directions quickly, as well as meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
