SUMMARY:
Our Client is a US branch of a Japanese-owned manufacturing and development company, focusing on photo development systems and dry-process film. They have asked Hallmark to help them find a mid-level mobile software developer with strong UI skills, to add to a team that creates consumer software for viewing, manipulating, and ordering image based products. The right person for this role will have a passion for working with a team to develop solutions that have immediate, tangible results for end users.
This is a staff position with a stable, growing company, working in a collaborative, team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designing, creating and maintaining all mobile applications development for internal and external customers. ( Apps will mainly be image-content based and integrate with a variety of data sources )
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.
Supports software systems.
Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
May act in the capacity of technical or project leader on individual projects.
Provide project updates to senior technical staff and/or project leaders.
Analyze software requirements and determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; read and write requirements documentation as needed.
Develop detailed system specifications based on functional requirements (Product Requirements Document); write specification documentation as needed.
Develop and present designs that address requirements and specifications; write design documentation and prototypes as needed.
Estimate level of effort (LOE); predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Program software designs in accordance with accepted software engineering and coding practices.
Integrate multiple software modules as needed.
Create and execute software system unit-testing procedures, perform integration testing; create and test installation procedures.
Coordinate releases of software with Software Quality Assurance department.
Work with support and documentation groups to provide technical / user training and configuration documents as needed.
Research and correct defects found during SQA activities or reported from the field.
May participate in hiring process by performing technical interviews.
May provide input on performance reviews.
May provide guidance and direction to junior programmers regarding analysis, design and coding.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor?s degree in Software Engineering or related field
5+ years of software development experience
Recent Android and iOS experience in client-facing mobile applications
Experience in the delivery of apps in both Google Pay and Apple Apps stores ( candidate will be required to provide links prior to interview )
Experience with digital image processing / digital imaging technology
Must have the ability to wade through code and re-architect the implementation for better and supportability while leaving the appearance and workflow minimally changed
Must have tenacity, customer focus and ability to self-direct
Must have experience working with a team of other developers
Experience working with QA Testing teams; expertise in trouble shooting / debugging
Digital image processing (or video processing) experience
Graphical User Interface expertise is required (touch screen, multi-touch, gestures, animation are preferred)
Experience with data binding controls
Object oriented design skills
Expertise with long-lived, complex, layered software
Desktop applications knowledge
Multiple language applications ()
Complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience
Good understanding of software that interacts with social media
Experience with software that uses devices (ex: USB, mobile phones, SD cards, scanners, CD/DVD)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Professionalism; ability to use good judgment
Good time management and organization skills
