Fast-paced, growing, team-oriented, Private Practice Dermatology group looking for energetic, patient-focused certified medical assistant effective immediately. Dermatology and/or Mohs experience is recommended, but all candidates will be reviewed. Great family oriented atmosphere in this busy practice. Looking for part-time applicant. Practice has 2 locations, with the Primary location in West Omaha, and the secondary location in Council Bluffs, IA. Employee will likely work in the Omaha location majority of the time, with working at the CB as needed. Office hours begin as early as 7am and as late as 5pm Mon-Fri.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
Must be a CMA or RMA
BLS certification
Must be authorized to work in the US
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to commute between Omaha and Council Bluffs as needed
All candidates must possess highly professional customer service skills, great teamwork skills, outgoing- positive demeanor and a professional well-groomed appearance
Candidates are expected to arrive at the interview wearing professional business attire
Candidates are expected to bring a copy of their resume, references, etc.. to the interview
Essential Duties:
Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
Scribe
Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
Administer ordered medications.
Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.
Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.
Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).
Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, RN Supervisor or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
