The SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania Training and Education Fund is a joint labor-management organization that provides education and training opportunities to front-line health care workers across Pennsylvania. The Fund supports working adults in improving their skills, gaining job security, and continuing their education. Our programs include tuition assistance, career counseling, educational support, skills enhancement classes, and on-line test preparation.
Position Description
The Program Specialist is responsible for providing members and employers with information about TEF programs, conducting career and educational counseling, collaborating with union and employer partners to determine workforce development needs, recruiting for TEF courses, and developing expert knowledge about educational providers in the community. This position may teach or facilitate workshops based on the candidate?s skill set.
Specific Responsibilities
Visit participating facilities on a regularly scheduled basis to engage employees and managers in TEF programs and relevant education/training needs
Recruit for and promote courses.
Provide basic career and educational coaching
Organize and facilitate programs to support the needs of the participants
Develop positive relationships with managers, union leaders, and covered employees at participating facilities
Develop expert knowledge of area educational institutions and programs
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Adult Education or related experience required.
Essential :
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in adult education, career counseling or leadership development.
Excellent coaching skills
Professional and engaging interpersonal communication skills;
Excellent computer and record-keeping skills
Able to work independently and is self-directed.
Experience working in a union environment preferred
A driver's license and fully-insured car; ability to travel extensively within a specific geographic area. Some overnight travel is required, 3 ? 4 times annually.
Up-to-Date CPR Certification. Demonstrated interest in becoming A CPR Trainer
Bilingual a plus.

FLSA Status: Full Time Exempt
