Summary
The successful Medical Practice Manager will display strong organizational, team building, decision making, financial planning and problem solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential. They should be both detail- and customer service-oriented and be a team player, though also possess the ability to work independently as needed. Medical Practice Managers should be proficient in using office equipment and basic computer programs.
Medical Group Practice Manager Duties and Responsibilities
Managing and coordinating medical front office operations and procedures
Monitoring patient scheduling, referrals and satisfaction
Interview, hire and train new staff in accordance with HR guidelines
Manage daily staffing to ensure optimal operation of the practice
Oversee facility equipment utilization making recommendation for equipment to improve productivity
Develop and prepare budget strategy for financial success including but not limited to creating budget, equipment expense, staffing increases billing, collect and more
Monitor customer satisfaction ensuring customers have positive experience and develop strategies to maintain and improve
Identify, research, develop and deliver recommendations for overall office improvements monthly to Executive Committee
Required Skills
Must possess minimum of Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Management or Business Administration
Master Degree with concentration in Business Management preferred
Must be US Citizen or eligible to work in the US
At least three years experience as Medical Practice Manager
Understanding laws and standards of HIPAA, ADA, OSHA and other regulations
Strong understanding of medical insurance, health records, coding and billing systems
Profiency with Microsoft office suite (i.e. Excel, Word, Visio)
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong attention to detail and experience leading teams in health care setting
Physical examination prior to employment will be required
Tier 1 security clearance will be required within 45 days of employment
