HR Coordinator/Staff Accountant Job Opening in River Falls, Wisconsin - Designer Doors is a national manufacturer of high-quality, handcrafted, custom-made doors & gates and is seeking an HR Coordinator/Staff Accountant .
Human Resource duties:
Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
Administers pre-employment testing of applicants.
Enters new hires in payroll system and approves Time Cards for office staff.
Plans and conducts new employee orientations; sets up email address and log in for PC/Laptop; access to drives and programs; prepares work station.
Keeps record of insurance coverage, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier for workers? compensation.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Commission calculations and management.
Represents organization for phone unemployment hearings and investigations.
Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
Directs preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs such as insurance plans, paid time off, bonus pay, and special employer sponsored activities.
Responsible for managing the Business Insurance; meets with Broker to keep current status.
Analyzes existing benefits policies of organization, and prevailing practices among similar organizations, to establish competitive benefits programs.
Recommends benefit plan changes to management.
Attends Safety Committee Meetings and follows through with recommendations and concerns.
Prepares PowerPoint presentation for Company Meetings; Organizes Company and Employee Events.
Attends L10 Meetings weekly and quarterly management meetings. Updates the spreadsheets.
Accounting duties:
Reporting.
Maintain general ledger, record journal entries.
Cash Management (reconciles the bank account, manage cash balances, prepare and review payments to vendors, contractors and payroll).
Customer contract approval for Sales.
Timely filing of sales and use tax reports and payments.
Timely filing of quarterly transportation reporting ? IFTA and Highway Use Tax returns.
Maintain tax registrations, annual reports.
Accounts Receivable.
Timely entering and posting work orders.
Month End Reconciliations.
Back up to Accounts Payable.
Assist with improving process flows, creating systems and integrations.
Creates and maintains work instructions for job responsibilities.
Assists with projects as required.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in human resources and accounting.
Minimum Two-Year Accounting Degree.
Clear thinking/problem solving; able to quickly grasp new ideas; understands the big picture and the details equally.
A strong understanding of manufacturing and constructions industries is preferred with a strength in job costing to be successful in the position.
Enthusiastic team player, productive working independently or as part of a group; ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
Attention to detail.
Strong technical abilities, able to complete tasks with many detailed steps.
Experienced with Microsoft Excel.
Experience with SAGE or MAS 200.
