Receptionist Job Opening in Dayton, Ohio - JOB SUMMARY: The receptionist position for Pediatric Associates of Dayton, Inc. is responsible for providing efficient office support, teamwork and outstanding customer service by receiving patients and visitors, determining their needs and directing them accordingly. Duties include but are not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, receiving payments and issuing receipts, pulling and prepping medical charts, faxing and filing. Must maintain compliance, patient privacy and environmental safety. Performs other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma required. 2 to 3 years? experience in a medical office or healthcare facility preferred. Must be customer-focused and possess strong oral communication and telephone skills. Ability to work well in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality of work
Responsibilities
Perform the following functions on a rotational basis: check in, check out, scheduler, and runner.
Ensure patient satisfaction by patients, families and visitors by greeting in a warm and welcoming way.
Ensure registration form is complete and up to date, updating patient accounts, when needed.
Ensure insurance information is current and correct, updating patient accounts, when needed.
Pull and prep charts.
Distribute all incoming faxes; pull charts to attach any reports, results or correspondence.
Answer phone calls.
Balancing out at end of day.
Arrange servicing for front office equipment.
Arrange for the destruction of PHI.
Daily distribution of mail and courier deliveries.
Assist other personnel in times of high volume.
Maintain HIPAA compliance.
Willing participant in a team environment.
Work well independently.
Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
Attend staff meetings.
Promotes Pediatric Associates of Dayton, Inc. in a positive manner.
Arrives to work at scheduled time.
Must rotate late night hours with other front office personnel.
Must rotate Saturday hours in the North Office with other front office personnel (8:00am-12:00pm).
Must be willing to travel to other office locations when staffing is needed.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Basic computer and keyboarding skills required. Exceptional skills in customer service, organization, prioritization, attention to detail. Qualified candidates will have multitasking skills, a strong customer focus, organizational abilities and a high degree of professionalism and team mindedness. This job requires extensive sitting, standing, bending, lifting, walking and typing.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: Does not supervise any other employees. Front Office Coordinator is direct supervisor. If the Front Office Coordinator is not present, employee will report to the Assistant Office Manager, Office Manager and/or Physicians.
