Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job Opening in Louisville, Kentucky - The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of software test plans in order to identify software problems and their causes.
Design and/or develop test plans, scenarios, scripts, procedures or automated testing tools.
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems or network environments.
Develop testing programs that address database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests or usability. Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers. Create or maintain databases of known test defects. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules or potential problems. Develop or specify standards, methods or procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content. Identify program deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
Install, maintain or use software testing programs. Configure recreations of software production environments to allow testing of software performance. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem free operations.
Candidates must be knowledgeable on software quality assurance and testing. A minimum of one year experience is required with a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering. Candidates must also be authorized to work in the United States.
