Sr. Java Application Developer
What do you need to be able to do?
Focus on timely application development using proven object oriented programming.
Translate business requirements into functional code.
Perform multiple steps of the software development lifecycle for a large enterprise application assisting with important regulatory compliance initiatives.
Demonstrate high competency in Java EE & Groovy development and application implementation, with enterprise systems in web SOA environment.
Skill set must include some SQL database expertise with a heavy stored procedure design.
Committed to proper version control and disciplined change management documentation.
Application support experience is necessary.
Business analysis skills are helpful to augment technical skills in creating functional applications meeting defined business requirements.
Knowledge of Java 1.7, Groovy, REST Services are preferred.
Ability to design and implement development environment (building, testing and deploying system, familiar with MVN repository and SVN.
Working knowledge of load balancers, high availability, and expertise on app server configuration.
What are the requirements?
6 - 8 years of Groovy and/or Java Application programming and web development experience
Oracle PL\SQL & SQL skills
Knowledge of GUI standards
Object oriented design methodologies
Large scale business application development experience is preferred.
Practical experience with UML
Business Analyst Tools & Techniques
Superior Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Analytical Strength
Attention to Detail
Project Management experience is a plus
Experience in the Gas industry is a plus
Programming: Java 1.7, Groovy, JavaScript
Database: Oracle 11g
Advanced SQL scripting and utilization and modification, as well as ability to work with complex stored procedures and logical data queries with error handling.
Strong aptitude for designing functional applications from interpretation of business requirements
Ability to work and communicate effectively with the end-user when necessary to gain insight into application requirements
Technology Requirements:
Groovy/Grails
Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE)
JavaScript ? (ExtJs - Sencha Architect preferred)
ESB/REST integration experience is preferred
Windows Active Directory integration experience is helpful but not necessary
