Maine Medical Center, one of Maine?s premier employers, is currently seeking candidates to fill the Patient Financial Services Associate position , located in Scarborough, ME .
This position is responsible for billing and follow up of patient insurance claims within filing limits to support proper account completion and closure prior to 120 days of the date of service. The PFS Associate works within a team based setting and is responsible for performing the necessary account research required to determine processing and payment of claims. The role supports the overall success of Patient Financial Services by demonstrating flexibility, collaboration, and cooperation in a High Performance Work Team (HPWT) environment while maintaining a high level of production and service quality. The Patient Financial Services Associate II continues to gain knowledge in all areas of Patient Financial Services in order to proceed along the MaineHealth career path.
Requirements:
High School graduate or GED.
9 months experience in a related Healthcare Field preferred.
Hospital, Physician, or Provider-Based billing experience preferred.
Proficient keyboard and data entry skills.
Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work effectively with electronic work quality monitoring and electronic systems.
Proven Proficiency in working a minimum of one role (billing or collections) for one payer (hospital) or one specialty (physician).
Specialized Knowledge: Hospital or Provider Based billing, cash posting or refunds preferred.
Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD9/10 codes.
