The overall purpose and function of the job is to, under minimal supervision, manage and take responsibility for specific assigned duties that relate to developing and maintaining reports, data mining from the Financial Decision Support System, and assisting as needed with the Cost Accounting, Product Line Analyst, Productivity and Dashboard modules of Strata Decision Technology. The responsibilities for this position also include the ongoing development of analytical tools, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis. This position reports to the Manager of Cost Accounting and Decision Support.
Required minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
BS/BA with a concentration in accounting or finance, MIS or related field. MBA preferred.
Five to seven years of querying, data mining, and report writing experience using Microsoft Access, SQL and/or Crystal and, ideally, Strata Decision Technology or a similar Financial Decision Support system.
EPIC Certification in Clarity (HB or PB) highly desired.
Demonstrated experience working with users to identify information system needs.
An understanding of hospital-based finance decision support and cost accounting is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
Working knowledge of personal computers as well as information systems capabilities, procedures and practices.
Ability to function within a rapid time period, with the ability to organize to meet deadlines.
Analytical skills to collect pertinent information necessary to analyze complex problems, formulate sound solutions, and implement those solutions.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with both internal and external personnel in multiple disciplines and varying levels of management, on a variety of complex issues.
