The Tax Senior Associate will report to the Tax Manager and will be specifically focused on assisting the Tax Manager and third party preparers in the various tax preparation engagements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist third party preparers with the annual tax preparation of 250+ reporting entities, including corporations and partnerships with pass-through allocations from SPEs and targeted allocations for the limited partners in the funds

Review federal and state tax returns prepared by third party preparers

Manage quarterly fixed asset depreciation processes in Sage Fixed Asset Software and Yardi Accounting Software for existing and new company assets

Assist the Tax Manager in managing exposure to FATCA legislation and Foreign investor reporting, including preparation of Forms 8804/8805 and Forms 1042 for various entities

Prepare quarterly and other periodic tax withholding and estimated payments for the partnerships and corporations within the various fund structures

Calculate taxable income and tax liability estimates for disposed assets

Manage liquidation plans for domestic C-Corporations

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Above average Microsoft Excel skills is required

Firm understanding of tax depreciation and calculations, especially related to the real estate industry is required

Experience with interfacing with Federal and State tax authorities is required

Experience with investor reporting for a private or public company, or with foreign banking, is a plus

Familiarity with SAGE Fixed Asset Software, Yardi Asset Management Software, or similar products is a plus

Big Four accounting firm experience is a plus

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelor?s Degree required, Masters in Accounting preferred

2-4 years of experience in preparing, including 1-2 years of experience in reviewing, U.S. and multistate partnership and corporate tax returns is required. Experience with international tax returns and US filings for foreign persons/entities is a plus

Operates in a professional office environment, be able to work well in a team environment as well as be able to
