Controller Job Opening in Sandy, Utah - Private company seeking energetic professional willing to roll-up their sleeves and control the financial operations and accounting of a construction and services company with nation-wide operations and diverse associated businesses. Must work hand in hand with CEO while taking ultimate responsibility for all position functions. The work includes:
Direct involvement in HR and IT related functions
Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
Protecting assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Monitoring and confirming financial condition by conducting audits; supporting external auditors.
Maximizing return and limiting risk, on cash by accurately managing construction budgets, overhead, A/R and A/P
Preparing budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
Providing status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data, through standard and ad hoc financial reports; to management.
Assisting in the Management of a team of multiple administrators. Completing operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Protecting operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
Calculating and recording accruals, prepaids, and work in progress transactions
Conducting timely and accurate periodic closings
Participating in routine work in progress review meetings, reviewing status and progress of jobs, and compliance with budgets and schedules
Preparing and filing taxes
Profile
Experience in Construction accounting highly desired. Familiarity with Job Cost accounting and progress billing is essential. Proficiency in intercompany transaction and consolidation experience. CPA license desired, but not mandatory.
