Financial Controller Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Portland based Divisional Controller:
We are seeking a qualified candidate for a senior divisional accounting role within an exciting high growth corporation, this newly created position is to initially keep the divisional books for 2 Oregon Corporations, but future growth includes 2 additional out of state Corporations. This position is supported from the parent Corporations Finance department. This position will report directly to the Portland area manger but also responsible to the Corporate CFO.
Responsibilities and duties include:
Initially handling all computerized accounting duties, General ledger, Payables, Receivables and Payroll;
Ability to successfully implement company projects from start to finish with limited oversight;
Faculty for gaining understanding of company operations, processes, and business objectives;
Manage budgets and company expectations through superior communication skills;
Proactively interact with management to provide status updates; and
Provide mentorship and training to staff when necessary.
What you will bring:
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy;
Good functionality in MS office suite, especially excel;
Comfortable with accounting software programs, currently on Quickbooks but updating to Guardian Systems;
CPA or CPA candidate;
Minimum of 5 (five) years accounting experience; and
Broad exposure to federal income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations, comfortable researching tax issues.
Candidates with the following qualifications will be given priority:
Certified Public Accountant
Expertise with IRC 280(e)
