Medical Biller (Flexible Hours) Job Opening in Hillsboro, Oregon - Work hours : Flexible schedule. Ideally mornings on weekdays (Monday through Friday), under 10 hours per week based on billing volume available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Submit medical claims to insurance companies using Office Ally software in a timely manner
Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided
Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to medical billing
Perform benefit verification within 24 hours
Obtain pre-authorizations for insurance claims
Maintain current prescription refills from doctors? offices and update internal documentation
Prepare and submit monthly billing statements
Accounts receivable and medical collections
Using QuickBooks perform monthly data entry, prepare year-end reports for Accountant
Balance checkbook
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years of recent medical billing experience
High school diploma
Sound working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and medical terminology, and be HIPAA compliant
Medical billing certification preferred
5 years of experience with accounts receivable and medical collections
1 year of experience with Office Ally software preferred
1 year of experience with QuickBooks, general understanding of accounting principles
Excellent computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook
Excellent organization, planning and project management skills
Able to prioritize among multiple and/or competing tasks
Able to work independently, demonstrating sound judgment and strategic thinking skills with minimal supervision
Able to perform tasks with a high level of attention to detail along with superior time management and problem solving skills
Self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills
