Senior Accountant Job Opening in Wilton, Connecticut - Fast-growing organization in Wilton is currently searching for a Senior accountant to join their team! Ideally, we are searching for candidates with 4-7 years of general accounting experience, looking to start a new career in an extremely stable, growing role will not only be responsible for general accounting functions, but will also work alongside the controller to develop accounting controls and standard practices for the company. As such, we are searching for candidates who are not afraid to make suggestions, roll up their sleeves, and be a key player for the team.
Responsibilities include:
Lead for internal audits
Post cash & wire transactions, credit card donations, and apply deposits
Manage Month-end close process
Prepare journal entries
Reconcile accounts
Assist in credit card coding and entry process
Participate in managing budgets and provide reports to department managers
Post and reconcile investment and bank account activities
Reconcile general ledger activity to accounting software
Post adjusting journal entries and accruals
Manage 1099 process
Assist compliance reporting, including VAT and income tax
Recommend ways to maximize revenue and reduce costs
Propose process improvements to improve efficiency
Qualifications:
4-7 years of general accounting experience, with combination of Big 4 or public accounting experience and corporate
Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA or Working towards CPA Preferred
Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Excel and relevant ERP experience (SAP/Oracle preferred)
Excellent communication skills
