Audit Associate Job Opening in Las Vegas, Nevada - We are a full-service public accounting firm, in search of an audit associate to help us in our auditing department. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying basic areas of GAAP as necessary and documenting, validating, testing and assessing various control systems. This position may also be involved in reviews and agreed-upon procedure engagements. The essential job duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:
Demonstrate professional interest in providing clients with quality services
Effectively communicate with clients
Plan, organize and use time effectively and efficiently
Meet budgeting goals
Perform administrative tasks as assigned
Maintain financial document retention files
Perform other related duties as requested
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Masters in Accounting or equivalent preferred
1-2 years Accounting experience in public accounting firm
Basic understanding and experience planning and coordinating the stages to perform an audit of a basic public and/or private company
Knowledge of internal accounting controls and professional standards and regulations (GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.)
Solid analytical and diagnostic skills and ability to break down complex issues and implement appropriate resolutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Prior experience with various assurance applications and research tools
Eligible to sit for CPA exams or CPA preferred
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced work environment
