Senior Reporting Accountant Job Opening in Waldorf, Maryland - Responsibilities include assisting with reconciliations and financial analysis, quarterly SEC reporting. Preparation of monthly board package. Supports the Bank?s Asset and Liability Management process (ALCO), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) documentation
Qualified candidate must possess the following:
Bachelor?s degree in the field of accounting or finance
Minimum of three years public accounting experience
Demonstrated work experience of U.S. GAAP financial statements and required footnote disclosures
Experience with financial modeling
Aptitude with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Access and Excel. Use of Word and PowerPoint are also important
Effective written and verbal communication with demonstrated ability to work independently, research complex accounting issues and produce deliverables accurately and on time
Project management experience is not required but is favorablePreference will be given to candidates with SEC financial reporting and financial institution experience and Certified Public Accountants.
Duties:
Assists with period-end close (month, quarter and year end)
Assists with financial statement schedules and notes preparation (10K, 10Q, XBRL)
Assists with monthly interest rate risk model and quarterly ALCO package
General ledger entries and account reconciliations
Prepares audit schedules for internal and external audits
Documentation of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX)
Account and other financial analysis and explain variances against budget and forecast
Completes required regulatory training on or before the deadlines as assigned
Completes and submits a performance self-evaluation form 30 days prior to service anniversary date each year
Performs other duties as assigned to support department needs
