Architectural Sales Representative Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - Purpose of the Position
The Architectural Sales Representative will assist in improving our commitment to architectural and commercial sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for 100% architectural, national accounts and owner developers.
Coordinate with the National Architectural and Commercial Project Manager on assigned projects.
Learn and present continuing education programs for the architectural and design community.
Work with the Distributor Architectural Sales Representative in territory to call on local architects on major projects. Identify and interface with commercial contractors in addition to territory Sales
Representatives calling on local commercial contractors.
Work on full life cycle on developing specification such as developing relationships, contact in pre-design, design phase, identify scope of projects, face to face meetings, writing MAPEI specific specifications, submittal for review, establishing bid dates and follow up on Specification.
Interface with all distributors in territory as needed. Identify general contractor and sub-contractor needs. Sell MAPEI Products with an emphasis on using samples, and displaying salable product features.
Achieve targeted sales budget as established by the Company. Perform measurement, i.e. closing sale of commercial specifications by tracking specifications through the sale. Maintain relationships with distributors, contractors, and project owners to ensure successful delivery of products and close of sales process.
Update current National Accounts and develop new National Accounts. Work with inside Customer
Representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
Develop and maintain relationships with commercial architects to influence them on MAPEI products.
Attend Trade Shows as requested.
Adhere to all policies, procedures and instructions as defined in our Quality Management System (QMS), Employee Handbook, Health and Safety manual, or any other instruction issued by the company.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Use Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as using the Internet.
Education and Experience Required
A Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university is preferred. 5 years experience in a commercial related
Licensing or other Special Requirements
Valid state driver?s -Lingual in certain markets. Certification goals US: CSI, CDT, LEED-AP. Canada: CTR, membership: CSI, AIA, or any other industry related organization.
Mandatory to live in Boston, MA Area.
