Sr. Software Engineer Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for writing well-engineered code that conforms to accepted standards with focus on abstraction, scaling and reuse.
Create and execute automated unit tests to ensure code is written to specifications and it serves its intended purpose.
Develop and build SOA and MSA RESTful services at scale
Willingness to try out new technology, to solve challenging problems
Perform benchmarking and analysis on deployed solutions and disseminate information for architectural discussion
Ability to work well with a team of highly motivated and skilled personnel - interaction and dialog are requisites in this dynamic environment.
Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Qualifications
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related subject
3-5 years experience using open source DB
Experience with Hadoop and Spark
3-5 years experience in scripting languages and related frameworks
Experience in multiple platforms including Windows, Linux, physical and virtualized
3-5 years experience implementing SOA models using JSON, XML and SOAP
Experience with Git
Experience in Scala will be a plus
