Finance Assistant Job Opening in Grand Rapids, Michigan - Summary of Job: This position is responsible for providing Accounting Support services to the ELNC Financial Department.
Reporting Relationships: Finance Coordinator reports to Finance Manager.
Direct Staff Supervised: None
Other Key Relationships: Finance Coordinator will interact and develop relationships with ELNC Staff, parents, community partners, volunteers and other community early childhood program peers.
Essential Job Functions:
Follow ELNC fiscal policies and procedures.
Assist in managing ELNC program contracts including but not limited to:
Review finance reports
Maintain contract compliance
Maintain funding payment schedule
Assist with fiscal monitoring process.
Follow ELNC purchasing and procurement procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Develop finance reports for funding sources.
Assist with providing technical assistance to ELNC Partners/Service Providers.
Receive and process per ELNC Communications Protocol all requests for information related to ELNC Finance and/or Contracts.
Assist with ELNC annual audit process.
Assist with and/or participate in all ELNC major projects and activities as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge?s, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge and experience in providing accounting support in public or non-profit program.
Knowledge of complex helping systems, professions, and organizations and how they affect children and family welfare, and the multiple uses of such systems, professions, and organizations to deliver services.
Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to work well with others in a team approach.
Skill in the use of automation software and related equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Required Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
Two years? work experience working in non-profit finance.
Prior work experience providing accounting support for Executive Team.
Prior Experience working in non-profit human services organization.
Knowledge of computer web based programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Two years? experience working with low income populations.
Additional requirements of the position:
Position is identified as having regular contact with children in accordance with public law; therefore, a criminal background check must be completed.
Travel within the ELNC Collaborative
Program activities frequently take place in the center/site (permanent and mobile), family homes, and other community locations.
Walking, standing, bending, and carrying of small and light objects.
