Summery:
The SQLServer DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server systems, to ensure the high availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a ?hands-on? position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and sustainment of the SQLServer, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health and performance), executing deployments, and performing all maintenance in support of multiple development teams. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Requirements:
Auditing existing operational database setup (maintenance plans, data file layout, etc.) and provide action plans for any recommended improvements
Working with IT and Engineering teams to maintain on-premises SQLServer instances as well as those in the public cloud (IaaS/PaaS on AWS, Azure, etc.)
Managing the lifecycle of SQLServer database through environments from local developer machines through to production, and providing tooling and processes to facilitate this
Establishing best practices for monitoring/health, performance, high-availability, caching, etc.; and collaborating with teams to ensure that these best practices are applied
Assisting teams with planning and executing major database version upgrades for existing systems, and/or transitions from on-premises installations to cloud-based ones
Providing expertise on understanding and implementing advanced SQLServer features, such as Always On Availability Groups, read replicas, encryption, RLS, etc.
Enabling future growth into multi-terabyte data ingestion and storage, NoSQL and hybrid designs, and global data replication strategies
Experience with current on-premises versions of SQLServer (2012, 2014, 2016) is a must.
Experience with public cloud (IaaS/PaaS) and continuous (CI/CD) practices as they relate to SQLServer and data storage are highly desirable

Salary: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 /year
