Due to an internal promotion, leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing General Accountant for their accounting department. As the Manufacturing General Accountant you will report to the Accounting Manager and work with a team of accounting professionals in a high volume work environment. Daily you will be responsible for cross training with accounting teammates and learning a diverse list of accounting functions including:
Completing general ledger and journal entries
Assisting with month and year end
Compiling accounting reports through MS Excel and the ERP system
Monitoring the accounting function of capital projects
Overseeing fixed assets including costs and depreciation
Digitizing and organizing accounting files
Understanding of manufacturing and inventory tracking
Assisting with providing data for Tax management
Supporting daily accounting tasks
Managing the established product costing process
Learning the A/P and A/R process as a back up

REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing General Accountant:
1. A minimum of an associate's degree in accounting, finance or business
2. At least 2 years of experience in a similar manufacturing accounting role
3. Experience working with an ERP or MRP software package
4. Experience with journal entries, general ledger and reconciliation
5. General knowledge of AP and/or AR
6. Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Experience with month end and year end processes
2. Cost accounting
3. Capital projects
4. Automotive manufacturing environments
