Family Preservation Worker Job Opening in jacksonville, Florida - Family Preservation Worker Family Support Services of North Florida Job Posting Job Title: Prevention Worker Department: Program Services Reports To: Nassau Supervisor FLSA Status Hourly, Non-Exempt Posting Date: May 11, Email Cover Letter and Resume to SUMMARY To assess the needs and provide the necessary prevention services needed by at risk families of child abuse or neglect who have been referred for intervention by various community agencies and the Department of Children and Families. The primary goal is to prevent the removal of the children from the home. This position reports to the Nassau Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following, other duties may be assigned. ? Provide in home services to at risk children and families ? Complete in-home assessments to determine the level of need and risk of child abuse. ? Monitor quality of care by conducting home visits with the family in compliance with the determined level of risk of child abuse and/or neglect. ? Assist families with crisis prevention, management and stabilization. ? Assist families with coordination of services from community resources that would help them ensure the safety of their children. ? Facilitate or co-facilitate educational classes such as parenting skills, behavioral management, money management, etc. ? Document case activity in accordance with program policy and maintain case records in compliance with Agency, regulatory and accreditation standards. ? Conduct outreach into the community to publicize the program and advocate on behalf of the families when necessary ? Attends staff meetings and all prevention training ? Report indications of child abuse, neglect and/or abandonment to supervisor immediately ? Completes other duties assigned by Nassau Supervisor SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE The position will need to have a Bachelors Degree in human services with at least one year experience working with at risk families. Computer proficiency needed. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively with staff. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS General math skills, ability to calculate figures, amounts, and percentages. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables with a minimum of direction. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
