Logistics Analyst Job Opening in jacksonville, Florida - Logistics Analyst ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Carrier Management Oversee the successful coordination of daily routing for all domestic shipments Coordinate weekly sailing schedules Serve as the liaison between the Company Sales & Operations group, the carriers, and our customer Research and analyze the core carrier group to include carrier bids and rate negotiations Negotiates rate and service issues for modes of transportation carrier and determines the appropriate transportation mode to be utilized. Coordinate and incorporate domestic purchased items into the overall transportation network taking advantage of backhaul opportunities. Claims Management. Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments for freight and handles claim reporting and tracking Develop and manage the company's network of ?off-site inventory" (OTI) facilities Maintains perpetual inventory on frozen product stored in off-sight refrigerated warehouse locations in the United States and Canada Coordinate directly with the Inventory Team to establish and manage the inventory strategy for all of the company's SKU ensuring the right item, right place, right quantity, and right time Transportation Management System (TMS) Research and analyze a TMS strategy and assist in the setup and configuration of a TMS. Implement continuous improvement and incorporate technology into the daily operations to streamline and gain efficiencies and accuracy. Must be able to meet deadlines as required. Must be able to adhere to quality control standards. Every employee is a safety officer and has a duty to maintain a safe work environment. Good attendance is a condition of employment and an essential function of this job. WORKING HOURS: A typical work week consists of 45-50 hours. A typical work shift consists of a schedule from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, or until work is completed, Monday through Friday and overtime as scheduled. Saturday as required. Job Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year University; or 2-3 years related experience in inventory control and or traffic management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have working knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving procedures. Food experience preferred. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products and have a working knowledge of a Tier 1 Transportation Management System (TMS).
