RN - Inpatient Unit FT Nights Job Opening in Boise, Idaho - Treasure Valley Hospital is a 10-bed, Joint Commission accredited surgical facility located in Boise, Idaho, which was named as the #1 Hospital in the Nation in 2012 by CMS for patient satisfaction. We are looking for a qualified Inpatient Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time, night shift position .
License or Certification:
Current Idaho RN license required.
BLS certification required.
ACLS and PALS certification expected within one year of hire.
Education, Vocational Training, and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school required.
Two years experience in med-surg care required.
Interpersonal Relations: Interaction with patients, families, physicians, teammates, contractors, and vendors must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. Behavior must promote an atmosphere of teamwork which is consistent with hospital standards and guidelines to ensure a pristine healthcare experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Registered nurse must be able to care for young, middle-aged, and geriatric patients.
Maintains patient charts and documents in the patient record.
Researches information.
Must be familiar with medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital personnel.
Ability to organize/prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to work under stress.
Uses good reasoning ability and independent judgment.
Physical Tasks:
Light to extremely heavy physical effort (lift/carry 50 lbs. or more).
Occasional to considerable standing/walking.
Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.
Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Environmental Conditions:
Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
Registered nurse handles emergency and crisis situations.
Subject to many interruptions.
Possible exposure to infections, contagious diseases, and biohazardous substances.
Machines and Equipment Used: Blood pressure equipment, IV pumps, glucometer, PCAs, thermometer, CPMs, SCOs, diagnostic equipment, fax machine, photocopier, computer, multi-line telephone.
