Network Engineer Tier 1 Job Opening in San Francisco, California - Network Engineer Tier 1 is looking for a network engineer l1 for a 12+ month contract (conversion if it?s a good fit) in sf. 70% of this role will be network focused and 30% will be telecommunication operations. who do you know? network operations (70%): ? complete help incident request queues on wired and wireless data network system, troubleshoot connectivity, resolve network outage issues, including ups and basic cabling. ? assist on requests for data network services, updates, changes and maintenance. ? participate in 24x7 on-call support on a rotation basis, on and off hours and weekends (average 1 week per month) ? install, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot cisco network equipment at network closets including ports, etherchannel, vlan, ssid configuration and assignment. telecommunication operations (30%): ? when available, assist on change requests for voip and hybrid voice system services and cabling. ? backup and support of basic voice service support. ? backup emergency response for physical facilities. to apply: *please send resume to requirements ? 2+ years of network engineer and it administration experience maintaining and troubleshooting cisco network consisted of catalyst 6500, 4500, 3500, 3700, 2900, asr, asa, 5800wlc routers and switches. ? working knowledge of routing, switches and basic securities and policies, 802.3, 802.1d/q, tcp/ip, ospf, rip, vlan, etherchannel, basic wan understanding, lan and cat5, cat6, fiber wiring standards and practices. dhcp, dns, basic understanding of windows and linux is a plus. ? hands-on and current experience with cisco 45xx, 35xx, 29xx series switches, cisco ap?s and monitoring applications, apc and liteon ups ? background in data troubleshooting. ? some travel (5-15%) to regional campuses, training seminars, and trade shows. to apply: *please send resume to
