Project Coordinator-- Teen Community Service and Leadership Job Opening in rochester, New York - Project Coordinator-- Teen Community Service and Leadership Community Project Coordinator Position Description Title: Community Project Coordinator Classification: Community Educator SP (20 hours per week) Location: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County --Rochester, NY Supervisor: 4-H Youth Development Issues Leader General Responsibilities: The Community Project Coordinator is a member of the Lake Plains 4-H Team, a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension. S/he is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the Citizen U project, which engages youth ages 14-18 in effecting change in their communities through community improvement projects. Citizen U project outcomes relate to involving teens in citizenship education, community service, leadership, and workforce development activities. The program works with partner agencies to build sustainable opportunities for youth to have meaningful roles and contribute to improving their communities. The Community Project Coordinator will work closely with the 4-H Issues Leader and the NYS CYFAR (Children, Youth, Families At-Risk) Team, as well as various community partners. Program Development 30% ? Utilize a comprehensive program planning process in collaboration with supervisor and state CYFAR Team to develop plan of work ? Recruit, train, and support community partners ? Develop strategies to sustain program values and opportunities for youth in the broader community ? Promote and market the program, ensuring project outreach to diverse audiences Program Implementation 50% ? Coordinate and mentor teen Citizen U groups, including facilitation of citizenship and leadership programming ? Establish and maintain community collaborations ? Work with partner agencies to recruit, train, and support teen leaders ? Provide support and supervision for youth-led community improvement projects ? Attend required Cornell State 4-H events Program Evaluation 10% ? Compile evaluation data for reporting ? Support planning and implementation of evaluation and research learning in consultation with the 4-H Issues Leader, the NYS Citizen U Project Director, and Cornell University faculty ? Work with youth, families, and organizations to provide funders documentation of eligibility, outcomes, and achievements. Employee Development 5% Attend training, county and regional in-services that aid in the development and delivery of work duties. Attend yearly national CYFAR conference. General CCE -- Monroe County 5% Participate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County. These activities include attendance at staff and Lake Plains Team meetings, timely reporting of expenses, tracking budget needs, general marketing of CCE- Monroe County, and other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ? Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups of various ages, ethnic backgrounds, and educational levels to reach program goals. ? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks. ? Be able to interpret and apply research-based resources and curriculum. ? Experience and ability in implementing innovative and collaborative to address community needs. ? Effective oral, written, and computer-based communication skills. ? Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. ? Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. ? Have knowledge of the community and its residents. ? Be able to organize and execute plans. Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree plus one year of related experience in youth development, education/training, workforce development, and/or program development and management. Special Requirements: Must have access to transportation to use it for work related travel. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekends when required.
