Project Manager Job Opening in Birmingham, Alabama - Office Environments, a Birmingham, Alabama based office furniture dealership, has an opening for a project manager (PM). Responsibilities include activities such as project planning, site inspections, order tracking, scheduling installations, and punch. The PM interacts directly with our clients and works with our sales team, design team, customer service team, installers and accounting. The PM is responsible for the logistics of the project and the successful completion of the project within the time and budget established for the project. The PM works out of our downtown Birmingham office and has a Monday through Friday schedule with rare evening or Saturday work required when a project schedule demands extended hours.
The PM will work both in the office and at project locations throughout the Birmingham area that in some cases may require personal protective equipment such as hard hats and safety glasses. They will use their personal vehicle for transportation and mileage will be reimbursed. No overnight travel required.
The successful candidate will be well organized, will have a positive, can-do attitude, will interact well with our clients and other employees, and will represent the company in a professional way. They will be available for work as required and will be comfortable using technology. Experience with Interior Design, CAD, drafting, and/or project scheduling software is preferred as is a college degree in a related field or equivalent project management experience.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
College degree preferred but not required.
Minimum of two years of experience in a related field such as interior design or project management is required.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Professional attitude and an ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate with customers, other employees, and vendors is required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
