Corporate Accounting Analyst Job Opening in Columbia, Maryland - To develop systems, procedures, tools and reports on both a routine and request basis that will collect, disseminate and analyze operational data to improve Company identification and correction of problems. This position will assist with development and production of cost proposals, operating budgets, financial reports to the Government and assist and provide backup support for the Senior Analyst.
Assist the Senior Analyst with maintenance and development of data collection, processing, storage, aggregation and distribution mechanisms, to include both financial and non-financial data
Identify, investigate, and improve statistical and narrative-centric reports/documents
Develop perpetual and requested special reports for Company using existing data to provide timely and relevant analyses foundational for decision-making
Assist in the development of electronic tools to improve Company ability to identify financial and operational problems, trends, correlations, and best practices
Provide on-going support to end-users of tools developed, including training, tutorials, trouble-shooting, and explanation of any assumptions or methods used in calculations
Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards
Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Bachelor?s Degree Required, preferably in mathematics, computer science, statistics, business or related; Comprehensive understanding of Excel; Coding proficiencies in t-SQL and VBA for Excel/Access. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate relevant information with attention to detail and accuracy; Minimum 40 WPM; Excellent verbal communication skills; Adept design skills to ensure illustrations (graphs, etc.) are easily understood by users; Task organization and ability to address tasks as priorities change; Customer oriented; Understanding of relational databases (e.g. Access, SQL); Travel Required.
