Controller Job Opening in Hogansburg, New york - Tarbell Management Group, LLC has a career opportunity for a highly motivated individual to fill our Controller position. The Controller reports directly to the CFO and assists the company on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to finances, budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding. This position is responsible for managing the organization's accounting department which includes the preparation of financial statements and adherence to GAAP. Specific responsibilities include:
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
Assists in the facilitation of budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
Achieves budget objectives by analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA is preferred.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting/finance experience and team management. SAGE software experience is desirable. CPA highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Must have advanced Excel skill set and have ability to author reports in Crystal.
Strong cost accounting skills with a focus on manufacturing organizations is preferred.
Strong analytical skills and experience
Effective ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-management, internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems or resolve issues.
Ability to lead and motivate direct reports
Ability to travel
Valid Driver?s License
