Medical Records Specialist Job Opening in Wasilla, Alaska - Medical Group of Alaska, a multi-specialty group, is seeking a dynamic individual to join the administrative team as a Full Time Medical Records Specialist.
This position is responsible for ensuring Medical Records? services throughout the organizations integrated healthcare delivery system. This includes, but is not limited to, working and managing the flow of health information requests and responses to, from, and within the organization; ensuring timely availability of incoming information in patient charts, physical safety, security and confidentiality of protected health information; evaluation of medical records processes and controls against the organization?s internal and external information needs on an ongoing basis; compliance with relevant State and Federal regulations regarding medical records; train, supervise, and evaluate Medical Records staff.
QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor?s degree preferred. Minimum two to five years of experience working in a Medical Records department including experience with release of protected health information and HIPAA compliance strategies. Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
