Position available: Assisted Living LPN
Position overview: The Assisted Living LPN is responsible for the provision of tenant services, including assistance with personal care, medications, social and recreational activities, meal services and other tasks as needed to facilitate the continued well-being of tenants. Has the ability to communicate effectively and advocate for resident centered/directed care to team members, families, physicians, allied health professionals and the at large community.
Position qualifications: The Assisted Living LPN must be a graduate from an accredited school, be currently licensed in Iowa without encumbrance, be responsible for maintaining professional licensure and CEU requirements. Must be CPR certified. Must have experiene working in Assisted Living or equivalent experience.
Position duties and responsibilites:
Serves as back-up to AL Director and Care Partners.
Regular duties are as a Care Partner with additional time spent as AL Director back-up and Nurse on duty.
Must carry on call phone in addition to days scheduled.
Is computer literate and has the ability to learn and utilize electronic tenant records charting.
Ability to observe and recommend assessment if tenant demonstrates a significant change in health or functional status.
Understand, practice and communicate resident directed/centered care on a daily basis as it relates to the Assisted Living.
Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
Be comfortable with disciplining employees if necessary.
Assist with implementation of Life Safety and emergency policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate and advocate with physicians and other health professionals regarding tenant?s health status or health needs.
Performing resident assessments as conditions warrants.
Encouraging and assisting residents in self-care and group activities.
Initiating emergency measures according to Prairie Vista Village policy and within standards of nursing practice.
Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
Provides job-related assistance to staff whenever necessary.
Possess ability to train, supervise, educate and retain staff.
Promotes staff performance through education, praising, and recognizing effective performance.
Provides disciplinary counseling for staff as appropriate with direction from AL Director.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the AL Director or Executive Administrator .
Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
Assists with individual tenant and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages tenant participation in activities.
Works effectively with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
