Network Engineer Job Opening in chicago, Illinois - Network Engineer Dental Technology Services, Inc., located in Wauconda, IL, is a well-established IT support and consulting company focused on supporting dental offices in the Chicago-land area. DTS is looking for another Network Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the installation of new, turn-key computer networks (including Cat 5e cabling), supporting both new and existing networks, troubleshooting network issues, installation of digital x-ray equipment and associated dental equipment (including computer arms and mounts), monitoring existing networks, remote access sessions and phone support. Duties: - Perform regularly scheduled server and workstation maintenance. - Provide remote support to clients for workstations, servers, and network equipment. - Provide onsite technical support to clients in the Chicago area. - Assist with client server and workstation installations and migrations. - Create and maintain positive customer relationships. - Prepare formal recommendations for hardware and software-based IT solutions - Prepare daily service tickets Technical Skills: - 1-2 years in a technical consulting role providing both remote and onsite technical support preferred - 2 or more years of experience in the following technologies: - Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7) - Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2003 and 2008) - Microsoft Windows SBS (2003, 2008 and ) - Microsoft Exchange (2003, 2007, and 2010) - Understanding of Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) - Understanding of Network Firewalls, Switches, and Routers - Remote Backup software - Antivirus software - Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 - Exceptional troubleshooting skills - Microsoft and other certifications a plus (MCSE,CCNA,SonicWALL) Other Skills: - Excellent communication skills - Comfortable with interacting with end-users at all levels.
