Description:
Accountable for purchasing team and operating budget. Shares accountability for outcomes of Supply Department.
Chain Management process. Establishes and documents policies, procedures, and performance goals and measures. Monitors and ensures team members' compliance to same. Serves as Product Management customer relations contact for all requests for training and education, presentations, special projects as appropriate.
Develops, establishes and maintains vendor performance criteria. Evaluates prospect vendors against criteria. Determines to select or not select vendors accordingly. Develops and establishes variety of reports and feedback mechanisms to capture vendor performance and impact on total process performance. Develops and establishes customer surveys and feedback mechanisms to capture customer satisfaction and recommendations for changes to vendor relations processes.
In cases requiring vendor bidding, develops, establishes and maintains vendor bidding requirements and procedures. Evaluates prospect vendors against criteria. Determines to select or not select vendors accordingly.
Initiates and oversees vendor certification program. Fosters partnership relationship between company and vendors. Communicates vendor performance criteria and status of selection decisions to vendors. Orients and educates vendor representatives of ongoing TQM method for evaluating vendor performance and mutual expectations of partnership. Negotiates terms and conditions of contract. Ensures commitment and agreement by vendor of same as evidenced by signed contract.
Analyzes and evaluates data against performance criteria to ensure vendor compliance. Identifies and forecasts trends in product usage. Analyzes and interprets inventory activity reports to assist in forecasting and projections.
Communicates vendor and product performance to vendor representatives. Solicits feedback from same.
Negotiates improvements in vendor performance as appropriate. Determines to continue with vendor relationship (recertify) or decertify vendor. Apprises vendor and staff of certification status.
Maintains and provides list of certified vendors to staff. Maintains vendor files. Maintains product standard files.
Facilitates resolution of requests requiring special handling. Recommends appropriate alternatives and options to customers. Facilitates trading and borrowing from other hospitals and vendors. Expedites request as appropriate to ensure customer need is met.
Interprets, analyzes, and develops contracts and RFXs within limits of company policies.
Develops, establishes and maintains standard product formulary with clinical and technical staff. Develops, establishes, maintains, and publishes standards formulary for internal customer use.
Coordinates and collaborates with various regional teams to evaluate products. Keeps abreast of new technology. Determines to approve or deny adding product to standards list. Selects appropriate vendor from list of certified vendors to be primary and secondary suppliers of specific products.
Reviews national contracts for price, terms, items to be included, best vendor, best buy. Compares same to local contract, terms.
Processes requests for product orders that are not on standards formulary. Performs product evaluation duties. Apprises customer of status of order and/or options and alternatives.
Develops and establishes variety of reports and feedback mechanism to capture product usage, nonstandard product processing, and impact on total process performance. Develops and establishes customer surveys and feedback mechanisms to capture customer satisfaction and recommendations for changes to evaluation processes.
Develops, establishes, and maintains department user performance criteria. Monitors department user compliance of same. Generates reports and communicates issues to department representatives. Solicits feedback. Negotiates improvements in department user performance as appropriate.
Facilitates planning of overall inventory levels and determines appropriate levels. Utilizes inventory management principles and techniques to achieve desired best practice metrics. Determines appropriate inventory replenishment technique.
Serves as customer relations contact for all requests for training and education, presentations, and special projects related to purchasing products.
Manages payroll and/or non-payroll budget. Monitors expenditures. Ensures compliance with budget. Promotes effective use of resources.
Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate.
Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
Minimum four (4) years of materials procurement or related experience to include working with vendors and internal customers and contract negotiations.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, customer service, , interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, teamwork, and written communication.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
Minimum two (2) years of product management experience in healthcare industry highly preferred.
Supervisory/lead or project management experience highly preferred.
Federal background check required.
Pay Rate: $23.13 - $25.69/Hour (Based on Experience, may be negotiable)
