Vice President of Business Development/Marketing & Sales Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - General Role Description
The Vice President of Business Development / Marketing & Sales is responsible for leading in a team environment to differentiate Martines Palmeiro Construction from the competition and build a growing base of business by evolving the Business Development, Strategic Marketing and Sales Program. The program includes identifying, pursuing, and developing relationships within current and potential market segments - focusing on client organizations where appreciation exists for the added value brought by Martines Palmeiro Construction. The individual will thoughtfully and proactively develop the department. In addition, this position will have a significant external leadership role in the business community. The Vice President of Business Development / Marketing & Sales will be asked to participate in strategic planning, innovation and the overall direction of the company.
This position Reports to the President and has direct supervisory responsibilities of the Business Development & Marketing Department.
High Level Key Responsibilities
o Strategic Planning
Participate in the strategic planning process
Understand the intent, process & tools within the strategic planning process
Communicate and implement the company?s vision, brand promise and core values
Assist in communicating the strategy to and involving certain people in your area(s) of responsibility
Lead people in your area(s) of responsibility to take actions that are consistent with the strategic plan
Focus on results and speed of implementation
o Department Development
Drive the culture on the foundation of our core values
Have a vision and direction for the department
Review current structure for the department
Determine desired structure for the department
Establish and manage the departmental budget
Oversee processes
Drive continuous improvement
Have a well-organized set of meetings
Create and use Roles Profiles
Facilitate an effective Review Process
Assess desire & skill sets of people in key positions
Development Personal Development Plans
Execute training / developing / coaching & mentoring programs
Manage compensation programs
Own Recruiting, interviewing, hiring & on-boarding processes
o Evolve the Business Development, Strategic Marketing & Sales Program
Lead the effort of fostering Business Development, Marketing & Sales within the culture
Involved in determining and implementing the Business Development & Marketing structure beyond the department
Develop and implement the Client Relationship Management (CRM) Database
Execute the Market Share Process ? focused on market segments / new clients / new business
Work with Operations to execute the Client Share Process ? focused on existing clients / growing existing business
Responsible for the Company-Wide Marketing Plan to develop, place and manage the brand
Run a weekly BD & Marketing Meeting focused on:
- Opportunity & Lead Generation
- Project Acquisition
- Client Strategy
- Marketing Deliverables
- Measurement & Improvement
o External Leadership
Establish a business - public presence
Develop an ?Inner Circle?
Have appropriate key stakeholder relations
Be a leader in Business Development oriented associations
o Community
Serve as a spokesperson and representative for the organization
Assure that the organization is consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders
Actively advocate for the organization
Promote economic development within targeted communities
Represent the organization regarding civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community and the state

Requirements
o 4-year college degree ? preferably in business and/or marketing
o 5 years? experience in a Business Development role in the A/E/C industry
o Industry Organization and Association leadership
o Appropriate software skills
o Construction operations and / or estimating experience preferred
o Entrepreneurial mind set a plus
