Medical Licensure Coordinator Job Opening in Huntsville, Alabama - JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
This position works with company staffing consultants and recruiters to assist contracted medical providers to obtain needed medical licensure for work assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish working relationships with internal personnel in order to facilitate new licensure, renewal licensure and reinstatement licensure for contracted providers.
Maintain accurate records of licensure progress using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Maintain accurate records of licensure expenses by using approved data bases or spread sheets.
Generate reports as needed or requested from database and/or Microsoft Excel.
Maintain familiarity with trends in medical licensing requirements.
Initiate contact with licensing boards and providers to begin licensing process.
Complete medical licensing applications with all known information on behalf of providers.
Send applications to providers with detailed instructions regarding the areas they need to complete.
Process verification requests using the most expeditious service available.
Work directly with the accounting personnel in obtaining the funds necessary to pay any fees for verifications and licensure in the most timely and accurate manner.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in company database.
Communicate with departments, personnel and providers in a timely manner to keep all parties informed of licensure progress.
Provide consultation with company providers who are processing their own license applications.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or equivalent credit hours from a four year college strongly desired.
Two or more years of experience in a licensing, credentialing or other medical service related position requiring attention to detail and follow-up.
Intermediate level of use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and the ability to learn new computer applications as needed for performance of duties.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve conflict in a cordial and professional manner.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Must possess ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in written communications.
High attention to detail and high level of accuracy in the performance of duties is required.
Must be able to meet service deadlines in a consistent manner.
PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Job is performed in a well-lighted, climate controlled modern office setting.
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
Prolonged sitting at a workstation using a computer.
Moderate phone usage.
This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
